Capacity Building

PAL works with families individuals with disabilities as well as providers to enhance capacities across the system around best practices. This year, we have invested enormous energy in assisting folks to tell their stories about how they are connected to their communities as well as to talk about the contribution they are making in their community. We have worked closely this year with a provider agency and are supporting a self advocacy office there. We are working with self advocates to help them staff the office and direct a human rights project there. We provided informational opportunities to families who have sons/daughters/ family members of transition age as well as staff to help raise their expectations about what is possible
